ASILOMAR CONFERENCE GROUNDS

Asilomar, which means "refuge by the sea," is located on 105 acres of pine trees and sand dunes near the Pacific Ocean at Asilomar State Beach on the tip of the Monterey Peninsula, Pacific Grove, California.

Autumn at Asilomar can bring all kinds of weather, Bring comfortable clothing, a jacket (or raincoat) in case of chilly evenings, and walking shoes. And do plan to enjoy the beach!


HIGH SCHOOL AND YOUNG ADULT TRACK

Young people ages 15 through 25 are invited to join the youth track. You’ll attend the main program presentations but you’ll also have special sessions over meals and from 1:00-4:00 pm on Saturday. To enroll, register as usual and check the box for “Youth Track” housing. You’ll be housed together under the supervision of program leaders. There is no program provided for youth under 15.


Registering for the Fall Asilomar Conference

Following are two sections which discuss Conference Registration. This year it is necessary to download and print TWO Registration forms for the Fall Asilomar Conference. Each Registration Form along with appropriate payment must be submitted separately, one for Tuition Fees, the other for Room and Board. Tuition Fees are sent to the Registrar.  Room & Board Fees are sent directly to Asilomar. Please read the information carefully to be sure to submit your Registrations and payments appropriately


Conference Tuition Fees: Conference Tuition Fees are submitted separately from Room and Board. Fill out the Tuition Registration Form and mail with your payment to the Registrar, Julie Reckard at the address shown on the form. To take advantage of the early registration savings, submit your Form and payment prior to the cutoff date of September 5, 2010.

If you have trouble downloading the Tuition Registration Form, please contact the Registrar, Julie Reckard by phone at 707-416-6271 or email her at registrar@caycegoldengate.org to request a form be faxed or sent to you via U.S. Mail.


Room & Board

Sign up for Room and Board by downloading the Asilomar Housing Form. Fax your housing form directly to Asilomar at (831) 642-4262 to reserve your room. You may also mail your registration. (Note: Telephone registrations are not accepted.) Rooms are assigned on a first come first served basis. Check in at 3 pm. Check out by 12 Noon. Meals begin with dinner on the first day and end with lunch on the last day. Children under 3 will eat from parents plates at meals.  Rates are per person and include lodging and meals.

To insure your room reservations Asilomar must receive your Housing Form prior to September 5, 2010. Requests submitted after September 5, 2010, will be filled as space is available. If rooms are not available on the Asilomar campus after September 5, you may want to consider rooming off-grounds. See Off-Grounds Participation below.

OFF-GROUNDS PARTICIPATION In addition to tuition fees, an offgrounds fee of $10.00 per day (or $30.00 for the entire conference) will be collected by the Region from those living off grounds and attending the conference (Asilomar charges this fee for use of their facilities). Meal tickets may be purchased from Asilomar if you would like to share meals with our group. Contact the A.R.E. Registrar for meal prices: Julie Reckard (707) 416-6271.

BOOKSTORE  The Region Bookstore provides an extensive selection of A.R.E. Press books and other quality books as well as health care products, CDs, DVDs, videos & other gift items. Cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted. Proceeds support the Region.

AUCTION  Please bring your appropriate donations for the silent auction. Proceeds from the silent auction will support the youth program. Drop off your donations after 3:00pm on Friday.

 

CANCELLATION POLICIES  

Asilomar cancellations received by September 4th will be refunded the full amount. Asilomar Conference Center keeps a $50 processing fee for rooms cancelled after the September 4th deadline. Tuition refunds are available less a $25 processing fee prior to November 4th..


DONATIONS TO THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
A scholarship fund based on donations enables the Region to offer limited scholarships to those needing financial aid. For information, contact the Registrar. You are invited to donate to this fund and all donations are tax deductible.
